Security of tenure discussions loom large. Thanks to the Clubs’ Big Survey we know the scale of the potential issues, numbers recently validated by ECB. But we have largely anecdotal evidence on the depth. So if you are a club with less than 5-10 years left on your lease or rental agreement, or did have until recently, please vote in our Quick Poll*.
One current story is that of a successful premier league club* who have been told to vacate their home of 50 years by year end. It seems the landlord’s children want to show their business mettle and turn the ground to what they expect will be more productive use.
Another of a club renewing their lease with the local council* and seeking some expertise in lease detail to help negotiate terms that potential future funders will find more attractive. ECB, eventually, said they cannot provide that sort of guidance to clubs.
Meanwhile it seems we’re all doing very, very well*. Again. This time on delivery of All Stars and Dynamos. But given numbers have plateaud for some years, why aren’t we doing better?
