Breakfast Club

Overview

The Breakfast Club’s focus on finance, funding and new income streams is intended to put you ahead of the game.

By seeing your club colleagues as collaborators not competitors. By sharing what’s possible, what’s been considered, what’s been tried, what’s failed but, above all, what worked, we want to support your efforts and maximise club success.

Especially as we will have external experts – from inside and outside the game – join our conversations from time-to-time bringing additional knowledge on specfic issues to the table.

The Breakfast Clubs will save you time, energy, frustration, wheel re-invention, tears and, being blunt, money. It should also stimulate some different and innovative thinking and new ideas. Well, perhaps ideas new to your club anyway.

But it’s small group so they’re about conversation not broadcasts. As we have already discovered, the added value is in the pooling of knowledge and learning across the Network. The sharing of countless conversations and personal experiences.

Meetings now run bi-weekly on the FIRST and THIRD Thursdays of the month and members are invited to drop-in as and when they can or want. There is a rolling programme of specific monthly themes which are communicated. The discussion themes may be the same, but the different participants and dynamics mean no two conversations are ever the same, so there’s no impediment to engaging more than once a month.

Join the club

After 12 months we have learned much, laying the basis for future meetings where we will focus on:

  1. funding big facilities projects
  2. funding smaller equipment needs
  3. fundraising & developing new income streams
  4. Making your club a more attractive funding proposition
  5. Improving your chances of success

We are now using a separate dedicated LinkedIn group to administer the Breakfast Club and you should apply to join.

What do we already know?

Unsurprisingly, over 80% of Network members say funding and finance issues are amongst their highest priorities. And, within that number, nearly 50% say they are planning significant facilities investment in the near future. The current funding picture is captured in this short website article:

Roundtable discussions

The Network’s Breakfast Club now operates as a weekly ‘drop-in’ series of regular roundtable discussions on FIRST and THIRD Thursdays at 9.30am. Alternative days/times may be added based on demand. So if you are registered on the Members’ Portal, you can sign up now.
